Vaccinations and health checks

Vaccinations are recommended for your pets to help protect them against potentially life threatening diseases such as canine distemper, parvovirus and respiratory tract infection . Booster vaccinations are then required at intervals as explained by your Vet. It is essential that your dog or cat is fully protected and most kennels insist upon full vaccinations before any dog or cat is admitted.

Dental Services

Our vet dental services are an important part of keeping your pet well. Dental and gum disease are very painful for your pet. Also, oral bacteria and inflammation can affect many body systems including the heart and liver. To prevent problems occurring, or catch issues early, we recommend regular dental check-ups.This doesn’t involve an extra visit to the surgery. Each time you see the vet for routine vaccinations and health checks, your pet’s mouth will be checked. However if you suspect your pet has a dental problem please make an appointment without delay.

X-Rays

Digital radiology (x-rays) captures data directly during the patient exam, immediately transferring it into our computer system. Digital radiology images have better resolution and contrast than those produced via traditional x-rays, and the software allows us to manipulate the images for additional diagnostic value. In addition, digital radiology requires far less radiation than traditional x-ray technology does, making it safer for your pet. In short, we get higher quality images more quickly and safely, resulting in more accurate diagnoses and more efficient treatment in the long run.

Microchipping

It's a legal requirement for your dog and cat to be microchipped. A microchip is a small electronic chip, around the size of a grain of rice, which is implanted under the dog's skin and contains a unique number that can be read by a scanner. The dog owner's contact details relating to each number are logged on a central database, so should the dog ever go missing or be stolen it can be scanned by the authorities and returned to his owner swiftly and safely. It is vital that the owner takes responsibility for updating their details with the database should their circumstances change.
